I met Toshiro Yamaguchi, tourist, at a supermarket in SOHO on July 26, 2010.  As soon as he heard an old Japanese folk song played there, he started to sing with the chopstick he had as a microphone.  I asked him what his romance was.  He said, “my romance is to discover a new approach to a person, place or thing and place it in a fresh attitude.  Finding out the same thing in a different way is romantic.”  I asked him what he had discovered today.  He said, “I have a fiancee in Thailand.  I see her only 4 months a year.  Today, I had a visual skype with her first time in 10 days because she had been in a remote area where she couldn’t have any internet access.  I saw her in a normal setting; the same face, the same room, all the same, but it was like first excitement to see her.”
