I met Wayne Pate, designer, at his studio in Brooklyn on August 3, 2010.   I asked him what his romance was.  He said, “my romance is in the moment.  Romance lives in that moment not in a fantasy.  Romance is a place you have to go to in your soul, it’s the inner self not the amazing beach in your thoughts.”  I asked him if his romance was a relationship.  He said, “my true romance is when I put my arm around that woman. That’s my true romance.”  I asked him if he could tell me more about his romance.  He said, “ask me tomorrow.”  I was almost going to say, “can I really ask you tomorrow?” But I didn’t.  I want a T-shirt that says “ask me tomorrow.”
