I met Zari Awodein, he works for Issey Miyake, on August 3, 2010 in Tribeca.  I stopped him on the street and asked him if I could ask what his romance was.  He said, “Amor Vincit Omnia.” He said it in Latin.  It means “Love Conquers All” in English.  I asked him where he came from.  He said, “Nigeria.”  I asked why he said his romance in Latin even though people in Nigeria speak English.  He said, “people say Latin as a language is dead, but I love Latin.  Latin language is romantic to me.”
