I met hamansutra, fashion designer, at his empire in Brooklyn on July 30, 2010. I asked him what his romance was. He said, “I always operate in the future. My last collection contained stretch nylon overalls for women in the year 2060. They are like a second skin and transparent. When you wear them, you become transparent. Nowadays we give out so much information about ourselves in facebook, Google, and CCTV. People spread out their private lives on the internet. You can read all about somebody in 5 seconds. And even when we’re out and about and not using our phones, we’re under observation by closed-circuit cameras in city centers. You become transparent because you give out so much information. I designed the last collection as a message to warn people not to release so much information – to warn them about this ultimate transparency.”
I stopped recording because I thought he had finished. But 30 seconds later, he asked me if I wanted to record more. He said, “Delete your facebook account now. Then you will keep your romance alive forever!”
